Every other Monday, the Town of Exeter Select Board meets in the Town Offices on Front Street, across the intersection from the gazebo, and discusses matters important to the local community.

When wide receiver and defensive back Caden Drobinski ‘26 stepped onto a game field for the first time in two seasons, there were doubts among the spectators and himself, but certainly not in his teammates. The moment to him meant far more than a return to football; rather, it was a careful culmination of years of quiet work, occasional doubt, but most importantly, perseverance.

The Evasons, a mentalist duo, performed at Goel Theater last Saturday. They left our students in shock. Jeff, swallowed among the audience, would pick up a small ID card of a student, and, blindfolding Tessa on the stage, would guess their name correctly.

In basketball, explosiveness is the name of the game. For four twelve-minute quarters, the nonstop ebb and flow from offense to defense, punctuated by the swish of the ball in the net every now and again, enthralls all who bear witness. Nowhere is the aggressive athleticism of basketball more visible than on the sport’s biggest stage.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, Phillips Exeter’s boys’ varsity water polo team had an away match against our rival, Phillips Academy Andover. As upper Allen Klingel exclaimed, this game was “the closest in a few years”, yet Big Red took the 13-10 win. This marks their strong start to the season, with 2 wins and zero losses.

On Sept. 13, new Exonians packed Love Gym, perusing Exeter’s many clubs while returning co-heads introduced their clubs. Piles of candy and trophies covered club booths. The gym echoed with tunes from Exeter Association of Rock and even bagpipes. Our fellow Exonians reflected on this day, full of new opportunities and interests, embedding first club meetings in their schedules.
